Cyient Q1 FY27 Results: Cyient's Digital, Engineering, and Technology (DET) business reported 10.6% year-on-year revenue growth to ₹1,540 crore. Margin improved to 13.2% despite lower profit.

Cyient reported healthy growth in its Digital, Engineering, and Technology (DET) business in the quarter ended 30 June. This was backed by higher revenue and profitability at the operational level. DET revenue rose 10.6% year-on-year and 2.7% quarter-on-quarter to ₹1,540 crore.

On a constant currency basis, however, revenue declined 0.9% year-on-year and 0.5% sequentially. Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) stood at ₹203 crore, translating into an EBIT margin of 13.2%, an improvement of 79 basis points over the previous quarter. Normalised profit after tax came in at ₹141 crore, up 2.1% sequentially but down 13.5% from the year-ago period.

The company also generated free cash flow of ₹114 crore, with free cash flow conversion at 80.5% of normalised Profit After Tax (PAT).

Cyient said the quarter was led by continued growth in its Transportation and Mobility and Connectivity businesses, while order intake increased 5.3% year-on-year. The company also reported its highest large-deal pipeline in the last 12 quarters, reflecting improving demand for lifecycle engineering services.

During the quarter, Cyient announced the acquisition of TAO Digital Solutions, which is expected to strengthen its capabilities in data engineering, software engineering and enterprise AI implementation.

The company continued to invest in AI-led engineering solutions, with management highlighting its strategy of combining domain expertise with artificial intelligence to support customers across the engineering lifecycle.

Beyond the DET business, Cyient said its semiconductor business delivered its fifth consecutive quarter of organic growth and completed a fundraise from EAAA India Alternatives (Edelweiss) at a post-money valuation of $500 million.

Executive Director and CEO Sukamal Banerjee added that the company is seeing stronger traction in large deals and expects the acquisition of TAO Digital Solutions to strengthen its AI and software engineering capabilities while expanding its lifecycle engineering offerings.

However, on 23 July, Cyient's share price ended the day 1.5% lower at ₹830.65 on the National Stock Exchange.
