The following stocks emerged as the top five gainers and losers on the Nifty 50 index today:

Oil prices moved higher on Thursday following a drone attack on a Saudi Aramco oilfield, intensifying worries about the impact of the expanding West Asia conflict on supplies. At around 15:36, Brent crude December futures stood at $111.71 per barrel. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude December futures stood at $99.32 per barrel.

Gold and silver traded lower on the Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). At 15:36, MCX gold December 2026 futures stood at ₹1,44,850 per 10 grams, down 0.84%. At the same time, MCX silver December 2026 futures stood at ₹2,03,527 per kg, down 2.70%.

Here are some other headlines for the day:

  • Crystal Crop Protection, a Delhi-headquartered agrochemicals and seeds solutions provider backed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), plans to reduce the size of its upcoming initial public offering (IPO).

  • As per a report, India’s planned private-sector capital investments expanded 39% year-on-year to ₹99.7 lakh crore in September 2026, supported by a sharp rise in proposed projects in information technology (IT)-enabled services and conventional power generation.

Industry watchers feel that market sentiment is likely to remain cautious in the upcoming sessions, with investors likely to focus on the developments in the West Asia conflict, movements in crude oil prices and their potential impact on inflation.

The latest attack on a Saudi Aramco oilfield has added to supply concerns, keeping energy prices and geopolitical risks in focus. Persistent selling pressure across frontline and broader-market stocks could also affect sentiment.
