Cipla Q1 FY27 Results: Cipla reported a 39% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹789 crore for the June quarter. Revenue from operations rose 2.3% to ₹7,119 crore. EBITDA and margins also weakened.

Cipla reported a 39% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit to ₹789 crore for the June quarter, while revenue from operations rose 2.3% to ₹7,119 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) and margins weakened sharply, although profit and revenue improved sequentially from the March quarter.

  • Net Profit: ₹789 crore, down 39% YoY; up 42% quarter on quarter (QoQ)

  • Revenue From Operations: ₹7,119 crore, up 2.3% YoY; up 9% QoQ

  • EBITDA: ₹1,192 crore, down 33% YoY

  • EBITDA Margin: 16.7% vs 25.6% a year earlier

  • Total Expenses: ₹6,248 crore, up 14.7% YoY

  • Tax Expense: ₹295 crore vs ₹478 crore last year

  • Earnings Per Share (EPS): ₹9.77 vs ₹16.07 YoY; ₹6.87 in Q4 FY26

While management commentary on the results is awaited, investors and market participants are likely to keep a tab on what the company’s executives say following the proposed generic drug tariff announced by the US President Donald Trump.

The tariff is scheduled to come into effect from 2028 and could have implications for Indian pharmaceutical exporters with exposure to the US market.

Cipla shares fell 3% in intraday deals to ₹1,377 after the earnings announcement. At 3:00 pm, the shares were down 1.24% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Despite the post-results decline, the stock has gained 6% over the past six months. However, it remains 7% lower since the start of the year.
