BHEL Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Turns Positive at ₹376.71 Crore, Revenue Up 40.29% YoY to ₹7,698 Crore

BHEL Q1 FY27 Results: Bharat Heavy Electricals swung to a consolidated net profit of ₹376.71 crore in the June quarter from a loss of ₹455.50 crore a year earlier, though profit fell 70.8% sequentially from ₹1,290.47 crore in Q4 FY26; revenue from operations rose 40.29% YoY to ₹7,698 crore but dropped 37.47% QoQ.
State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals, one of India's largest engineering and manufacturing companies with a presence across power generation equipment, transmission and industrial systems spanning over 180 products, reported its Q1 FY27 results on July 16, 2026. The Maharatna PSU swung back into profit during the quarter, helped by a sharp jump in revenue from its power segment.
BHEL posted a consolidated net profit of ₹376.71 crore during the quarter, compared with a loss of ₹455.50 crore in the same period last year. Sequentially, though, profit was down 70.8% from ₹1,290.47 crore in the March quarter, which tends to be the company's strongest on execution and billing.
Revenue from operations during the quarter rose 40.29% year-on-year to ₹7,698 crore, up from ₹5,487 crore in Q1 FY26. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, revenue fell 37.47% from ₹12,310 crore in Q4 FY26. Total income came in at ₹7,911.86 crore against ₹5,658.07 crore a year earlier, while total expenses rose to ₹7,415.62 crore from ₹6,269.78 crore.
The power segment did the heavy lifting during the quarter. Revenue from power stood at ₹5,919.50 crore, up 51.82% from ₹3,898.86 crore a year ago, though down 37.75% from the March quarter's ₹9,509.85 crore. The industry segment brought in ₹1,778.22 crore during the quarter, up 11.97% year-on-year from ₹1,588.05 crore, but down 36.5% sequentially from ₹2,800.52 crore.
On a standalone basis, BHEL's net profit during the quarter was ₹381.91 crore, up 38.35% from ₹276.04 crore in the previous quarter, and a turnaround from a loss of ₹454.89 crore a year earlier. Standalone revenue from operations came in at ₹7,697.72 crore, also up 40.29% year-on-year.

Shares of BHEL surged as much as 4.76% intraday to a 52-week high of ₹437.85 on the NSE on July 16, following the results. Around 3:18 pm, the stock was trading 4.51% higher at ₹436.80. The stock has gained over 14% in the past week, nearly 14% over the past month, and is up 50% year-to-date. It had touched a 52-week low of ₹205.12 on August 29, 2025. BHEL's market capitalisation stood at ₹1.52 lakh crore as of July 16.
