Bharti Airtel Q1 2026-27 Results: Bharti Airtel reported a 37% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹8,167 crore for the June quarter, while revenue from operations grew 18.3% to ₹58,539 crore.

Bharti Airtel Q1 2026-27 Results: Bharti Airtel Ltd. on Tuesday reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 2026-27), posting double-digit growth in both revenue and profit.

The telecom major reported a consolidated net profit of ₹8,167 crore for the April-June quarter, up 37% from ₹5,947 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Revenue from operations increased 18.3% year-on-year to ₹58,539 crore, compared with ₹49,462 crore in the year-ago quarter.

At the operating level, consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹33,599 crore, while EBITDA margin came in at 57.4%. In India, EBITDA was ₹24,781 crore, with the EBITDA margin improving to 60.1%.

Consolidated EBIT for the quarter stood at ₹19,282 crore, with an EBIT margin of 32.9%, while India EBIT came in at ₹13,335 crore, translating into an EBIT margin of 32.4%.

The company said revenue growth was driven by strong performance across its India and Africa operations. Revenue from the India business rose 9.7% year-on-year to ₹41,214 crore, while Africa continued to deliver healthy growth in constant currency terms.

India Mobile revenue increased 9.2% on the back of higher average revenue per user (ARPU) and continued growth in smartphone data customers. Mobile ARPU improved to ₹264, compared with ₹250 in the corresponding quarter last year.

The Homes business recorded 33.2% revenue growth, supported by customer additions and the company's convergence strategy. Airtel Business revenue grew 12%, driven by strong execution in its enterprise and digital services portfolio, while Digital TV revenue increased 1.4%. Revenue from Passive Infrastructure Services rose 4.6%, aided by tower rollouts and additional co-locations.

During the quarter, Bharti Airtel added 14.9 million customers, taking its overall customer base across 15 countries to 681 million. Smartphone data customers increased by 21.1 million over the past year and now account for 80% of the company's mobile customer base.

The company also recorded its highest-ever quarterly postpaid customer additions, adding 1 million subscribers during the quarter. Mobile data consumption increased 36% year-on-year to 34.4 GB per customer per month.

Bharti Airtel expanded its network by deploying 1,579 towers and 14,540 mobile broadband base stations during the quarter. Over the past year, it rolled out 7,631 additional towers and laid 45,171 kilometres of fibre to strengthen network coverage.

The company also completed an EPS-accretive share swap transaction to increase its stake in Airtel Africa Plc to more than 79%, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the African market.

On the balance sheet front, the consolidated net debt-to-EBITDA ratio improved to 1.17, compared with 1.70 a year earlier. Consolidated capital expenditure during the quarter stood at ₹13,386 crore, including ₹9,698 crore invested in India.

Commenting on the results, Vice Chairman Gopal Vittal said the company delivered another quarter of strong performance, supported by the resilience of its diversified business portfolio and disciplined execution across India and Africa.

He said consolidated revenue grew 5.7% sequentially, while India revenue increased 4.2% over the previous quarter. Vittal added that the increase in Airtel's stake in Airtel Africa reflects the company's confidence in the region's long-term growth opportunity and its ability to create value through disciplined execution and sustained investments.

Bharti Airtel shares settled 0.73% lower at ₹1,947.30 on the National Stock Exchange ahead of the earnings announcement.
