BEL Shares Gain As Defence PSU Secures ₹648 Crore Of Fresh Orders Since Late August

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured fresh orders worth ₹648 crore since late August 2026, adding to a series of recent contract wins for the defence electronics company.
The latest orders span laser-based infrared (IR) jammers, communication equipment, cybersecurity solutions, thermal imagers, transducers, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based software solutions, among other products and services.
With large defence procurement approvals also announced recently, the BEL shares remain in focus. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the BEL share price stood at ₹398.15, up 0.68%, at 11:14 am on 18 September 2026. The previous close was ₹395.45, while the stock opened at ₹397.40. It touched a high of ₹399.20 and a low of ₹395.15.
BEL Secures Multiple Defence Orders Across August
The latest disclosure follows BEL’s announcement on 26 August 2026 that it had received orders worth ₹730 crore since 10 August.
Those orders included communication equipment, radar, avionics, tank subsystems, electro-optics, cybersecurity and perimeter security systems, along with medical electronics, electronic voting machines, jammers, batteries, spares and services.
Earlier, during the first 10 days of August, BEL had secured orders worth ₹541 crore.
Defence Procurement Approvals Add To BEL’s Order Pipeline
Earlier in September, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, gave in-principle approval to acquisition proposals worth around ₹1.10 lakh crore for the Indian defence forces.
Around 98% of these approved procurements are expected to be sourced from Indian industry. The development has added to the focus on domestic defence manufacturers, including BEL.
BEL Stock Performance
BEL shares have risen around 183% over three years and 478% over five years. In the shorter term, the stock has declined around 2% over one week and 4% over one month.
The BEL share price was down around 3.5% over one year and less than 1% in 2026 so far, following a sharp rise in the previous year. BEL’s market capitalisation stood above ₹2.89 lakh crore.
