    Bajaj Finance reported another quarter of healthy loan book expansion, with assets under management crossing the ₹4 lakh crore mark.

    Bajaj Finance Q1 Results: Bajaj Finance reported its Q1 FY27 results on Thursday, July 30, 2026, after market hours. The country's largest non-banking financial company (NBFC) reported a 27.4% year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,986 crore for the April-June quarter, compared with ₹4,699 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net interest income (NII) rose 23% YoY to ₹12,571 crore from ₹10,288 crore a year earlier.

    Pre-provisioning operating profit (PPOP) increased 22% YoY to ₹10,137 crore during the quarter. Assets under management (AUM) stood at ₹5.46 lakh crore as of June 30, 2026, up 24% from ₹4.41 lakh crore a year earlier.

    The Pune-based company's business growth remained steady during the quarter. Bajaj Finance booked 16.13 million new loans, up 20% YoY from 13.49 million a year ago. Its customer franchise also expanded 17% YoY to 124.43 million, compared with 106.51 million in the corresponding period last year.

    Growth in the loan book was led by secured lending businesses, particularly gold loans and commercial vehicle (CV) and tractor finance.

    The gold loan portfolio recorded the fastest growth during the quarter, with AUM rising 112% YoY to ₹21,152 crore. The CV and tractor finance portfolio also more than doubled, increasing 102% to ₹4,355 crore.

    Among the other businesses, rural consumer finance AUM rose 49% YoY to ₹13,451 crore, while urban consumer finance grew 38% to ₹45,220 crore. Loan against securities expanded 34% to ₹36,564 crore.

    Mortgage loans, the company's largest lending segment, increased 27% to ₹1,73,624 crore, while the car loan portfolio grew 28% year-on-year to ₹15,995 crore.

    Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) stood at 0.96% as of June 30, compared with 1.03% in the previous quarter. Net non-performing assets (NNPA) improved to 0.39%, against 0.50% in the corresponding quarter last year.

    Loan losses and provisions stood at ₹1,993 crore, marginally higher than ₹1,969 crore reported in the year-ago period.

    The company said the June-quarter provisions included a ₹296 crore prudent management and macroeconomic provision. Excluding this additional provision, loan losses and provisions stood at ₹1,697 crore, down 14% from the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

    Ahead of the earnings announcement, Bajaj Finance shares ended 0.18% higher at ₹1,056.05 apiece on the BSE.
