Azad Engineering Shares Gain 2% In Early Trade After Winning ₹52.68 Crore BHEL Contract For Critical Gas Turbine Components
Azad Engineering secured a ₹52.68 crore BHEL contract to supply critical gas turbine components until October 2028.

Azad Engineering shares rose 2% in early trade after securing a ₹52.68 crore BHEL contract for gas turbine components until October 2028. Read more about the order and its significance.

During early trade on Tuesday on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Azad Engineering Ltd shares rose 2.02% after the precision engineering company disclosed a long-term rate contract worth approximately ₹52.68 crore with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for critical gas turbine components. The contract will remain in effect until 9 October 2028.

Azad Engineering share price opened at ₹3,024.40 and touched an intraday high of ₹3,030, compared with its previous close of ₹2,969.95. However, at 10:58 AM, it had given up its early gains to settle 0.55% down at ₹2,953.65. The shares have gained over 80% in 2026.

The domestic contract pertains to the supply of stationary and rotary airfoils for heavy duty gas turbines. Stator vanes and rotor blades are among the parts that fall under this category.

Azad Engineering has been cleared by BHEL as the supplier for the above-mentioned parts for the long term. This should go some way in helping BHEL procure gas turbine parts in India.

Azad Engineering also clarified that it had executed a similar rate contract in May 2026 but did not disclose it at the time. The company considered that order immaterial from a business perspective. However, the combined value and duration of the arrangement have now made the disclosure necessary, it said.

Azad Engineering said the contract was awarded by a domestic entity. It also confirmed that its promoters and promoter group have no interest in BHEL, the awarding entity, and that the contract does not qualify as a related-party transaction.

The order adds to the company's work in precision-engineered components for the power generation industry. It also aligns with efforts to increase domestic manufacturing of specialised equipment used in India's energy infrastructure.
