Adani Group Announces ₹1 Lakh Crore Bengal Investment Plan; Unveils ₹4,000 Crore Healthcare Project
Adani Group plans ₹1 lakh crore investment in Bengal by 2035, spanning healthcare, transport, energy, and logistics.

Adani Group plans a ₹1 lakh crore investment in Bengal by 2035, with ₹4,000 crore earmarked for a 2,000-bed healthcare facility.

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, announced a healthcare investment of more than ₹4,000 crore in West Bengal on Thursday. The conglomerate also plans to invest over ₹1 lakh crore in the state by 2035.

Gautam Adani said the group will invest more than ₹4,000 crore in the hospital, college and research facility.

The Adani Arogya Mandir will include a 2,000-bed medical institution, a medical college and facilities for advanced medical research and healthcare. Of the planned beds, 1,000 will be reserved for economically weaker sections covered under state and central government health insurance schemes.

The healthcare project is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs across West Bengal’s healthcare ecosystem.

The project was announced during its foundation-stone-laying ceremony in New Town. Gautam Adani, along with his wife, Priti Adani, and son, Karan Adani, performed the bhumi pujan and laid the foundation stone.

The healthcare project forms part of Adani Group’s broader investment plan for West Bengal. The group intends to invest more than ₹1 lakh crore in the state by 2035.

The proposed investments will cover several infrastructure and industrial segments, including ports, logistics, power generation, transmission and distribution, roads, bridges, ropeways, green cement and hyperscale data centres.

The group has also announced support for the restoration of Kolkata’s Writers’ Building, which was originally used as an administrative office by the East India Company and later housed offices of the West Bengal government.

Adani also highlighted West Bengal’s location in the group’s infrastructure plans. He said the state could serve as a maritime and logistics link connecting India’s industrial heartland, the Northeast and the Bay of Bengal.

The group’s stated investment plans therefore span healthcare as well as transport, energy, logistics, construction materials and data infrastructure, with the broader commitment extending through 2035.
