SIP Inflows Hit Record ₹32,490 Crore In September, Rise For Third Straight Month

SIP contributions rose to an all-time high of ₹32,490 crore in September, surpassing the previous record set in August. Monthly contributions have now increased for three consecutive months.
Systematic investment plan (SIP) contributions rose to a record ₹32,490 crore in September, surpassing the previous month's high of ₹32,297 crore, data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) on Monday, October 12, showed.
Monthly SIP contributions have now increased for three consecutive months, rising from ₹31,961 crore in July to ₹32,297 crore in August and ₹32,490 crore in September. The latest figure was also more than 10% higher than the ₹29,361 crore recorded in September last year.
The fresh high came even as Indian equities fell sharply during September. The Nifty 50 declined nearly 6% during the month, while monthly SIP contributions continued to move higher and stayed above the ₹32,000-crore mark for a second straight month.
The September numbers were released as part of AMFI's monthly mutual fund data, which also showed equity-oriented schemes received ₹38,306.55 crore during the month, up nearly 31% from August.
SIP Contributions Rise For Third Straight Month
September extended the rise in monthly SIP contributions after the ₹31,961 crore recorded in July and the then-record ₹32,297 crore in August.
On a year-on-year basis, contributions increased by about ₹3,129 crore from September 2025. The number of contributing SIP accounts had crossed 10 crore for the first time in August, rising to 10.02 crore from 9.90 crore in July. Total SIP accounts stood at 10.62 crore at the end of August.
Assets managed through SIPs stood at ₹18.62 lakh crore at the end of August, compared with ₹18.20 lakh crore in July.
Equity Mutual Fund Inflows Rise Alongside SIP Contributions
The record SIP contribution came alongside higher flows into equity-oriented mutual funds during September.
Equity schemes received ₹38,306.55 crore during the month, compared with ₹29,328.62 crore in August, an increase of nearly 31%.
Overall mutual fund flows, however, moved into negative territory in September as withdrawals from debt-oriented schemes outweighed inflows into equities.
