Welspun Enterprises received a ₹7,300 crore Letter of Award for a 53.4 km Pune-Shirur highway project, pushing its order book to ₹18,755 crore from ₹13,341 crore in December 2025.
Welspun Enterprises has added a major ₹7,300 crore highway project to its pipeline. The award from Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation involves a six-lane, partly elevated Pune-Shirur section on NH 753F.
The award, dated 29 April 2026, was issued by Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) acting as the implementing and tendering agency under a government-to-government arrangement between the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and the Maharashtra Public Works Department.
Welspun Enterprises shares fell by more than 3% at 2:22 PM on 30 April, trading near ₹522.80.
Project Details
The corridor runs from Km 10+600 to Km 64+000, covering a minimum design length of 53.40 km. It will be built and operated on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer toll basis under a sub-concession period of 29 years, including a four-year construction window starting from the Appointed Date.
The highway is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve freight movement across key nodes, including Wagholi, Kharadi, Lonikand, Ranjangaon and Shikrapur, a corridor that sits within one of Maharashtra's fastest-growing economic belts connecting Pune to its eastern outskirts.
Order Book Impact
The order book now stands at approximately ₹18,755 crore, up from ₹13,341 crore as of 31 December 2025, after adjusting for Q4FY26 execution. The breakdown across verticals is as follows:
-
Water: ₹10,813 crore, including ₹5,393 crore from operations, maintenance and asset replacement
-
Transportation: ₹6,152 crore, inclusive of this project
-
Tunnelling: ₹1,791 crore
What The Company Said
Managing Director Sandeep Garg said the addition rebalances the order book across verticals and improves revenue visibility. He described the project as a significant milestone in the company's growth in the transportation sector.
