Stock Market Update 30 July 2026: Sensex, Nifty 50 Trade Flat

The Indian stock market indices traded flat during early trading on Thursday. While Sensex was down by just 23 points, Nifty 50 traded around the 24,250 mark. Most sectoral indices, except Nifty PSU Bank, were trading higher.
Both the Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading flat after the market opening on Thursday, 30 July 2026.
At around 9:18 AM, the Sensex was up by just 23 points (0.03%) to trade at 77,678.23. The Nifty 50 was also up by just 12 points (0.05%) to trade at 24,262.50.
On Wednesday, 29 July 2026, the indices closed on solid footing. At the closing bell, the Sensex stood at 77,654.60, up 1.16%. The Nifty 50 stood at 24,250.20, up 1.10%.
How Are Other Indices Performing?
Besides Sensex and the Nifty 50, other broader indices were trading in the red on Thursday morning.
At around 9:22 AM, Bank Nifty was down by 273 points (0.48%) to trade at 56,932.35. The Nifty Financial Services index was also trading lower by around 78 points (0.30%) at 26,209.30.
Among the sectoral indices, Nifty IT gained the most (1.65%), Nifty Auto (up 0.44%), Nifty FMCG (up 0.36%), Nifty Metal (up 0.10%) and Nifty Pharma (up 0.34%) were also in the green. Nifty PSU Bank (down 0.34%) was the only index in the red.
Top Gainers And Losers
Market breadth was mostly bearish in early trading on Thursday. About 950 shares were in the green, 1275 in the red, and 163 remained unchanged.
The top gainers on the Nifty included Infosys, Tech Mahindra, ONGC, Hindalco and HCL Tech.
The top losers were UltraTech Cement, Interglobe Aviation, Adani Ports, Asian Pains and Eternal.
What About The Global Markets?
Global markets offered mixed cues during Thursday's Asian trading session.

Japan’s Topix fell 0.3%.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.5%.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was little changed.

Rupee Opens Higher: The Indian National Rupee (INR) opened higher at 95.58 per US dollar on Thursday. The previous close was at 95.64.
