The Indian stock market indices traded in the green during early trading on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.

At around 9:45 AM,

• The Sensex was up by 317.16 points (0.41%) to trade at 77,973.25.

• The Nifty 50 was up by 40.45 points (0.17%) to trade at 24,375.00.

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Indian equity benchmarks traded mostly in the red throughout the day. However, they managed to close in the green.

At the closing bell, the Sensex stood at 77,656.09, up 0.37%. The Nifty 50 stood at 24,334.55, up 0.48%.

Apart from the Sensex and the Nifty 50, other broader indices also traded in the green during early trading on Wednesday.

At around 9:45 AM, Bank Nifty was up 452.50 points (0.79%) to trade at 57,966.70. The Nifty Financial Services index was also up by around 0.85% to trade at 26,470.35.

Except for the Nifty IT, all sectoral indices also traded in the red.
