The Sensex was down by 841.36 points (1.14%) to trade at 73,054.38.

The Nifty 50 was down by 260.75 points (1.13%) to trade at 22,879.75.
On Friday, 25 September 2026, the indices remained range-bound throughout the session but managed to close in the green. At the closing bell, the Sensex stood at 73,895.74, up 0.43%. The Nifty 50 stood at 23,140.50, up 0.34%.

Apart from the Sensex and the Nifty 50, other broader indices also traded firmly in the red during early trading on Monday.
At around 9:59 AM, Bank Nifty was down 835.70 points (1.50%) to trade at 54,744.70. The Nifty Financial Services index was also down by around 358 points (1.43%) to trade at 24,736.45.
