Factors Impacting The Markets
-
Positive Q1 Results: The primary factor behind the positive sentiment in the market is the better-than-expected first quarter results. A vast majority of companies have reported earnings growth much higher than expectations.
-
FII Turning Buyers: Foreign institutional investors (FII) have remained net buyers for most of the days in August so far. This is another factor that is keeping the markets resilient.
-
Rupee Opens Almost Unchanged: The Indian National Rupee (INR) opened almost unchanged at 95.17 per US dollar on Monday. The previous close was at 95.2075.
-
Oil Prices Spike: Global crude oil prices rose on Monday amid uncertainty over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran said that, although a deal with Oman to establish new shipping lanes is almost complete, the US must meet certain conditions before the Strait can reopen.
Investor Takeaway
The indices are holding above key support levels, keeping the broader market structure positive. At the same time, developments in the Middle East remain a key factor for the market and could influence sentiment in the near term.
