Market Midday, 13 July 2026: Sensex And Nifty 50 Appear Under Pressure

Sensex and Nifty 50 were under pressure amid rising US-Iran tensions. Realty, metal, FMCG and pharma stocks fell, while IT outperformed. Read more.
The Sensex and the Nifty 50 continued to trade lower in the afternoon session as fresh escalation between the US and Iran took a toll on investors' sentiments. At 12:25 pm, the Sensex was down 0.049%. The Nifty 50 was also down 0.072% at the same time. Broader markets were also in the red. At 12:25 pm:

Nifty Midcap 100 index was down 0.27%

Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down 0.12%
Sectorally, the Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Pharma were under pressure. However, the Nifty IT bucked the general trend and was trading in the positive.

TCS shares jumped around 3% in early trade and, in the process, extended their gain for the second consecutive session.

Laser Power & Infra’s initial public offering (IPO) will enter its last subscription day. Through the IPO, the company plans to raise ₹742 crore.

Devson Catalyst and Happy Steels IPOs will also see the last day of bidding. The companies seek to raise ₹42.32 crore and ₹25 crore through their IPOs.
Markets are likely to remain volatile in the remaining trading hours. Traders are likely to closely monitor the situation in the Middle East and further escalations can drag down benchmarks further.
