Broader markets, however, were trading in the positive, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 trading 0.15% and 0.34% higher, respectively, at 11:45 am.

At around 11:45 am, the top five stocks on the Nifty 50 index were:

  • Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.
  • BSE Ltd.
  • JSW Steel Ltd.
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.
  • Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.
  • Coforge shares dropped nearly 3% in early trade despite the company reporting a 56.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit to ₹588.10 crore for Q2 FY27.

  • Infosys shares dipped nearly 4% in early trade after the information technology (IT) behemoth reported its Q2 FY27 earnings last week.

  • AU Small Finance Bank shares tanked as much as 10% on intraday deals despite the bank reporting a 53% YoY jump in net profit for Q2 FY27.

Despite recovering from early losses, markets are likely to remain volatile in the remaining session. Sharp stock-specific movements following quarterly earnings suggest that investors remain selective.
