The Sensex and the Nifty 50 traded marginally higher in afternoon trade despite uncertainty over the US and Iran deal regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. At 11:47 am, the Sensex was up 0.090%. During the same time, the Nifty 50 was up 0.041%.
Broader markets traded higher and outperformed benchmarks. At 11:48 am, the Nifty Midcap 100 was up 0.68%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 was up 0.10% at the same time. Sectorally, the Nifty Realty, Nifty Private Bank, and Nifty IT outperformed, while the Nifty PSU Bank underperformed.
