Markets extended gains for a third straight session on 3 July 2026. IT and pharma stocks led the advance as softer US economic data improved expectations around interest rates. Broader markets, however, lagged the benchmarks.
The Sensex and Nifty 50 ended higher for the third consecutive session on Friday despite mixed global cues.

What Moved The Market Today?
Markets found support from expectations that the US Federal Reserve may not need to raise rates aggressively after softer labour market data from the US.
Lower crude oil prices also improved sentiment. Brent crude traded below $72 per barrel despite a modest rise during the day.
Domestic markets closed higher despite intermittent volatility and profit booking, supported by favourable global cues and expectations of a more accommodative rate environment.
The rupee strengthened by 14 paise to close at 95.21 against the US dollar.

Gold And Silver Watch
Gold and silver prices advanced on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Gold futures settled at ₹1,47,700 per 10 grams, up 1.34%. Silver futures ended at ₹2,37,500 per kg, gaining 1.73%. Copper futures also closed higher at ₹1,284.50 per kg, up 0.75%.
