Green Gene Enviro Protection and Infrastructure (GGEPIL), an environmental infrastructure company, raised ₹90 crore in funding on Wednesday from JM Financial Private Equity, the family office of SRF Limited, along with other investors.

The company plans to use the funds to grow its hazardous waste management and waste-to-energy business.

GGEPIL specialises in the collection, treatment, and processing of hazardous waste produced across industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and automotive manufacturing. It converts this waste into alternative energy sources.

Commenting on the investment, Vinit Rai, Managing Director at JM Financial Private Equity, noted that GGEPIL holds meaningful long-term promise, particularly as environmental norms become stricter and the need for responsible waste handling continues to grow.
