The following stocks were the top five gainers and losers on the Nifty 50 index today:

Crude oil prices declined in early trade as investors hoped for a recovery in shipments from Saudi Arabia. At around 15:37, Brent crude oil November 2026 futures stood at $101.38 per barrel. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil October 2026 futures stood at $93.74 per barrel.

Gold and silver traded lower on the Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). At 15:38, MCX gold prices for October 2026 futures stood at ₹1,53,530 per 10 grams, down 0.55%. At the same time, MCX silver prices for December 2026 futures stood at ₹2,40,380 per kg, down 0.51%.

Here are some other headlines for the day:

  • Limited inventory at dealerships could affect car sales during the festive season, as the top five manufacturers, which control over 85% of the market, struggle to replenish stocks despite strong bookings.

  • Inox Clean Energy is close to buying Athena Renewables from UK-based fund Actis in a transaction that could value the company at about ₹2,500 crore on an enterprise value basis, people familiar with the matter said.

The domestic market may continue to take cues from crude oil prices and global developments in the next session, with sectoral trends likely to remain in focus.
