Jio Platforms IPO Enters Final Stage After Global Roadshows

Jio Platforms is nearing its IPO launch after completing global roadshows, with the proposed issue expected to raise around US$3.8 billion and value the company at approximately US$137 billion.
Jio Platforms is nearing the final stage of preparations for its proposed initial public offering (IPO), which is expected to be one of India's largest public issues. The company has completed its first round of international roadshows and is now preparing to file its red herring prospectus, according to a source familiar with the development.
The overseas roadshows were conducted in the US, UK, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash Ambani and Reliance Retail Ventures Executive Director Isha Ambani led the investor meetings.
SEBI Approval Clears Path For Public Issue
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued its final observations on 28 August 2026, allowing Jio Platforms to advance its IPO plans. The company had submitted its draft IPO documents in June 2026.
Under the draft prospectus, Jio Platforms plans to issue up to 27 crore fresh equity shares. The new shares would represent approximately 2.9% of the company's post-issue equity capital.
The proposed issue could value Jio Platforms at around US$137 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The company plans to use most of the proceeds to repay or prepay borrowings of around ₹27,500 crore held by Reliance Jio Infocomm, its material subsidiary. The remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes.
Jio Platforms' Financial And Business Profile
As of June 2026, Jio Platforms had 26.85 crore 5G customers. The company also had around 1.5 crore fixed wireless access (FWA) subscribers, according to the draft IPO information.
The company has expanded beyond telecommunications into areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and enterprise network services. For FY26, Jio Platforms reported a 15% increase in profit after tax to ₹30,053 crore. Revenue for the year rose 14.5% to ₹1,46,885 crore.
Jio Platforms has previously attracted major global investors. In 2020, Meta invested ₹43,574 crore for a 9.99% stake, while Google invested ₹33,737 crore for a 7.73% holding.
Reliance Industries currently owns around 66.4% of Jio Platforms, while Meta and Google together hold approximately 17.7%, according to the draft prospectus. The Jio IPO would be the Reliance group's first public offering since 2008.
