Wheels India sets a ₹2,088 indicative QIP price for its ₹250 crore fundraise and planned debt repayment.

Wheels India’s ₹250 crore QIP will focus on institutional fundraising at an indicative price of ₹2,088 per share, with the proceeds set to support debt repayment while the fresh issue could dilute existing equity by around 4.7%.

Wheels India has set an indicative price of ₹2,088 per share for its ₹250 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP), with the fundraise expected to increase the company’s outstanding equity by around 4.7%. The auto component maker plans to use the proceeds to repay debt.

The indicative QIP price is below Wheels India’s September 24 closing price of ₹2,186.85 on the BSE, representing a discount of about 4.5%. The company is raising ₹250 crore from qualified institutional buyers, with the final issue price to be determined through the QIP process.

Wheels India shares fell 2.40%, or ₹53.85, on Thursday, September 24th to close at ₹2,186.85, compared with ₹2,240.30 on September 23. The ₹2,088 indicative price, 4.7% potential equity dilution and planned debt repayment are the key details from the fundraise.

The ₹250 crore QIP involves the issue of fresh equity shares to qualified institutional buyers. The indicative price of ₹2,088 per share is below the stock’s Thursday closing price.

The floor price for the QIP has been set at ₹2,197.10 per share, with the company allowed to offer a discount of up to 5% to the floor price. The final issue price will be determined based on bids received from institutional investors.

The fresh issue is expected to increase Wheels India’s outstanding equity by around 4.7%, resulting in corresponding dilution for existing shareholders.

Wheels India plans to use the funds raised through the QIP towards repayment of debt. The company manufactures wheels for commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles and agricultural tractors and is part of the TVS Group.

The company has more than 11 manufacturing locations and over 50 OEM collaborations. It manufactures more than 10 million wheels annually across its operations.

The QIP follows a ₹180 crore preferential issue undertaken by the company earlier in September, adding another equity fundraising exercise to its capital-raising activity this month.
