Vodafone Idea Share Price Falls Over 2% In Early Trade; Stock Set For Second Straight Session Of Losses
Vodafone Idea stock price slipped over 2% in early trade on BSE.

Vodafone Idea share price fell over 2% in early trade on Wednesday despite gains in the broader market on the heels of a ₹2 lakh TRAI financial penalty.

Vodafone Idea share price fell more than 2% in morning trade on Wednesday, 16 September, even as the broader Indian market opened higher. The stock was on track for its second consecutive session of decline after falling 3.28% in the previous trading session.

Vodafone Idea shares opened flat at ₹14.47 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) before moving lower in early deals. The stock fell 2.3% to an intraday low of ₹14.14.

At 10:42 am, Vodafone Idea shares were down 0.69% on the BSE.

The latest decline came a day after Vodafone Idea disclosed a regulatory order from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In an exchange filing dated 15 September, Vodafone Idea said TRAI had ordered the company to pay a financial disincentive of ₹2,00,000.

The penalty was imposed after the company failed to meet the prescribed benchmarks for quality of service parameters across different service areas for October 2025, according to the filing. Meanwhile, the company said it is examining the order and assessing the appropriate course of action.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea announced the appointment of Gopika Pant as an additional director following a recommendation from the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Vodafone Idea’s share price has declined 2% so far this month, following a 12% gain in the previous month. On a year-to-date basis, the stock is up 23%, compared with a 13% decline in the Sensex over the same period. Over the past year, Vodafone Idea shares have gained 80%.

The stock touched a 52-week high of ₹15.78 on 9 September 2026. Its 52-week low stands at ₹7.71, recorded on 17 September 2025.
