Vishal Mega Mart reported a 25.6% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹258.8 crore for the June quarter, while revenue from operations increased 18.7%. The hypermarket chain also reported double-digit same-store sales growth, added 27 stores during the quarter and maintained its EBITDA margin at 14.6%.

Vishal Mega Mart reported its Q1 FY27 results on Thursday, July 23, posting a 25.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter, while revenue from operations rose 18.7%.

The hypermarket chain reported a consolidated net profit of ₹258.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹206.1 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Revenue from operations stood at ₹3,727.10 crore against ₹3,140.32 crore a year ago.

EBITDA rose 18.6% year-on-year to ₹544.6 crore from ₹459.2 crore, while the EBITDA margin was unchanged at 14.6%.

Same-store sales growth (SSSG) came in at 10%. Apparel remained the largest contributor to revenue at 47.4%, followed by general merchandise at 27.3% and FMCG at 25.2%. Private-label products accounted for 75.2% of total revenue.

North India contributed 39.5% of revenue, followed by East India at 28.5%, South India at 23.4% and West India at 8.6%.

The company added 27 stores during the quarter, taking its network to 819 stores across 559 cities. Its retail footprint stood at around 1.38 crore square feet as of June 30, 2026, serving a customer base of 17.5 crore.

Managing Director and CEO Gunender Kapur said the company started FY27 on a strong note, with growth supported by double-digit same-store sales and demand across product categories.

Merchandise execution and store expansion continued to drive the business despite inflationary pressures. Vishal Mega Mart opened 27 stores during the quarter, including 10 in southern India, where it is expanding its presence, he noted.

Kapur said inflation affected consumer demand during the quarter but expects the impact to ease over the coming quarters. He added that the company remains confident about its growth outlook.

Vishal Mega Mart shares fell as much as 5.1% to an intraday low of ₹106.31 on the NSE on Thursday. At around 2:19 pm, the stock was trading 2.22% lower at ₹109.53.

The stock has declined more than 2% over the past week and around 7% over the past month. It is down 19% so far this year. The company's market capitalisation stood at ₹51,368.13 crore as of July 23, 2026.
