Triveni Power Transmission Begins Trading As A Separate Company After Demerger; Share Price Closed 5% Down On Tuesday
Triveni Power Transmission lists on BSE and NSE after its demerger from Triveni Engineering.

Triveni Power Transmission listed on the BSE and NSE following its demerger from Triveni Engineering & Industries. The newly independent company begins pursuing its own growth strategy across industrial, marine and defence applications.

Triveni Power Transmission Limited (TPTL), which manufactures high-speed gearboxes and engineered power transmission solutions, began trading as an independent listed company after the demerger of the power transmission business of Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited (TEIL).

The listing on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gives the business a separate platform to pursue its growth plans and investment priorities.

On 13 October, the Triveni Power Transmission share price closed at ₹649.80, down 5% on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹649.80 against its previous close of ₹684.

The Triveni Power Transmission demerger was completed under a Composite Scheme of Arrangement approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The scheme became effective on 19 May 2026, with 1 April 2026 set as the appointed date.

Eligible shareholders of Triveni Engineering received one fully paid-up TPTL equity share with a face value of ₹2 for every three fully paid-up shares held on the 22 July 2026 record date.

The company’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director (MD), Tarun Sawhney, said the separate listing would allow sharper business focus, more transparent performance assessment and independent growth. The company’s agenda includes capital allocation, technology, talent and capabilities, with an aim to expand across industrial, marine and defence applications.

TPTL’s portfolio includes high-speed and niche low-speed gearboxes, aftermarket services, refurbishment, upgrades and lifecycle support for critical industrial equipment.

Its customers include global original equipment manufacturers (OEM), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, and industrial businesses in power generation, oil and gas, chemicals and fertilisers, steel, cement, sugar and distillery, marine and defence.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rajiv Rajpal, said it would build on more than five decades of power transmission engineering experience. Its priorities include delivering application-specific solutions, lifecycle support for installed equipment and expansion into higher-value industrial and defence segments. Its offerings also cover new equipment, retrofits, replacements and long-term aftermarket services.
