Tech Mahindra Share Price Falls Nearly 3% Ahead Of Q2 Results; Bonus Issue, Interim Dividend In Focus

Tech Mahindra shares fell nearly 3% on October 12 ahead of its Q2 FY27 results. The company's board will also consider a bonus share issue and an interim dividend at the upcoming meeting.
Tech Mahindra shares fell nearly 3% on Monday, October 12, ahead of the IT company's September-quarter results, with a proposed bonus share issue and interim dividend also set to come up before its board.
The stock was trading at ₹1,469.60 on the NSE at 12:49 pm, down ₹44.50 or 2.94% for the day. The decline comes ahead of Tech Mahindra's Q2 FY27 results, with the company scheduled to hold its quarterly earnings conference call and release its results on October 15.
The board will consider and approve the audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. Apart from the earnings, it will also consider a proposal for issuing bonus equity shares and declaration of an interim dividend for FY27.
The company has not announced the proposed bonus ratio or record date so far. These details are expected to be known if the board approves the proposal.
Tech Mahindra Q2 Results On October 15
Tech Mahindra's September-quarter results come after the IT company reported revenue of ₹13,995 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, up 5.1% year-on-year. EBIT rose 32.7% to ₹1,699 crore, while consolidated profit after tax stood at ₹1,195 crore.
The company had also declared an interim dividend of ₹15 per share for FY26. October 21, 2025, was fixed as the record date for that dividend, which was paid to eligible shareholders by November 12.
For the full FY26, Tech Mahindra subsequently declared a final dividend of ₹36 per share, taking its shareholder payout for the year higher.
Tech Mahindra's latest earnings will come against the backdrop of a volatile period for IT stocks, with the company's shares also remaining under pressure ahead of the results. The stock's nearly 3% fall on Monday adds to the focus on the September-quarter numbers and the board's decision on the proposed bonus issue.
Tech Mahindra Bonus Issue, Dividend In Focus
The bonus share proposal is among the key items before Tech Mahindra's board along with the Q2 results. If approved, the company is expected to subsequently announce the bonus ratio, record date and other details related to the issue.
Tech Mahindra has issued bonus shares in the past. The company announced a 1:1 bonus issue in 2015, under which eligible shareholders received one additional equity share for every share held.
The IT company has also used other routes to return capital to shareholders. Tech Mahindra had announced a share buyback in 2019, while dividends have remained a regular part of its shareholder payouts.
For FY26, the company paid an interim dividend of ₹15 per share and later declared a final dividend of ₹36 per share.
The October 15 board meeting will now decide on the proposed bonus issue and interim dividend alongside Tech Mahindra's Q2 FY27 financial results.
