Tata Capital Gets US$20 Million Investment From Japan's Resona Bank
Tata Capital And Resona Bank Join Hands To Expand India Opportunities

Japan's Resona Bank has invested US$20 million in Tata Capital Growth Fund III and signed an MoU with Tata Capital to help Japanese clients access financing and business opportunities in India.

Japan's Resona Bank has entered into a non-exclusive memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Capital to help its clients access financing solutions and business opportunities in India.

The partnership follows a US$20 million investment by Resona Bank as a limited partner in Tata Capital Growth Fund III LP. The Japanese lender's investment timeline was not disclosed.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will work together and use the combined strengths of Resona Bank's ties with Japanese companies and Tata Capital's Indian-based operations for mutually beneficial business development.

Resona Bank plans to use Tata Capital's local market presence and expertise to support Japanese customers evaluating opportunities in India.

The partnership is aimed at providing access to financing solutions and exploring business opportunities through Tata Capital's network. The collaboration is non-exclusive, according to the companies.

Resona Bank Executive Officer Mamoru Saito said India has become increasingly important to Japanese companies across manufacturing, sales, procurement and research and development.

Resona Bank has invested US$20 million as a limited partner in Tata Capital Growth Fund III LP, which in turn invests in Tata Capital Growth Fund III, managed by Tata Capital.

The fund is part of the broader partnership announced between the two institutions. Tata Capital said the fund has a track record of value creation and will support companies seeking to expand their presence in India.

Tata Capital Managing Director and CEO Rajiv Sabharwal said the collaboration combines Tata Capital's understanding of the Indian market with Resona Bank's relationships with Japanese businesses.

The partnership expands Tata Capital's engagement with Japanese businesses looking at India, while giving Resona Bank a local financial-services partner through which its clients can explore financing and other opportunities.

Tata Capital shares closed at ₹364.45 on 24 August 2026, on the National Stock Exchange. The stock had a 52-week range of ₹296 to ₹390.20.
