SBI Funds Management Q1FY27: Profit Rises 3.3% In First Post-Listing Quarter; Shares Slip

    SBI Funds Management Q1FY27 profit rose 3.3% to ₹873 crore in its first post-listing quarter. QAAUM grew 11% to ₹12.6 trillion. Stock has given back most listing gains.

    SBI Funds Management released its first quarterly results as a listed company after market hours on Monday, reporting standalone profit after tax of ₹873 crore for the June quarter, up 3.3% from ₹845 crore a year ago and up 37% sequentially from the March quarter.

    Revenue came in at ₹1,148 crore, up 15% from ₹997 crore in the same period last year. Operating profit rose 17% to ₹907 crore. Other income, which includes gains on financial investments, fell nearly 28%.

    Total quarterly average assets under management (QAAUM) rose 11% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹12.6 trillion. The company held a 15.1% mutual fund market share during the quarter.

    • Actively managed equity QAAUM: ₹8.6 trillion, up 10% YoY

    • Passive QAAUM: ₹4 trillion, up 12% YoY, passive market share 27.4%

    • Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) AUM: ₹2 trillion, up 15% YoY, SIP market share 12.3%

    • Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) QAAUM: Approximately ₹6,800 crore, up 29% YoY

    • Alternate AUM, including AIF, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), advisory and offshore: ₹16.5 trillion

    • Unique customers: 1.82 crore, up 12% YoY

    • Live folios: 2.2 crore, up 14% YoY

    Domestic equity mutual funds held up through the quarter, with retail investors continuing to put money in even as foreign portfolio investors stayed in selling mode. Improving valuations after the January to March market correction and expectations of a second-half earnings recovery were cited as key reasons for sustained inflows.

    SBI Funds Management shares have given back most of their listing gains. The stock debuted at ₹610 on 21 July, a 6.3% premium over the ₹574 initial public offering (IPO) price, briefly touched ₹625 intraday and ended the debut session at ₹601.

    The rally was erased in the following session, and the stock has faced selling pressure since. The shares closed at ₹588 on Monday, just 2.5% above the issue price.

    At 9:46 AM today, the stock was trading at ₹582, down 1.22%.
