RailTel shares gained nearly 5% after the Navratna PSU secured a ₹63.4 crore order from Prasar Bharati for additional services on its WAVES OTT platform.

RailTel Corporation of India shares rose nearly 5% during its intraday trading peak on Thursday, 17 September 2026, after the railway Navratna public sector undertaking (PSU) secured a ₹63.4 crore order from Prasar Bharati.

RailTel share price will remain in focus as the new order adds to the company’s project pipeline despite a recent decline in its stock. Investors tracking RailTel stock can assess the order win alongside the company’s latest financial performance.

RailTel received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the order from the Director General of Doordarshan, Prasar Bharati. The value of the order is ₹63.4 crore. It relates to additional features and services for the existing WAVES OTT platform. The validity of the contract is until 11 February 2029.

The order comes shortly after RailTel disclosed the cancellation of a separate ₹20-crore project by the Himachal Pradesh government's Directorate of Higher Education. The project was cancelled because of financial non-viability and the non-availability or non-collection of funds required for implementation.

RailTel stock reached an intraday high of ₹265.35, which was a rise of nearly 5%. At around 1 pm, the stock was trading 2.75% higher at ₹259.70 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), giving the company a market capitalisation of approximately ₹8,334.77 crore. The stock also touched an intraday low of ₹254.45 during the session.

At 3:06 PM on 17 September 2026, RailTel share price was ₹258.71 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

In the June quarter of FY 2026-27, RailTel's consolidated net profit was ₹65.78 crore. For the previous quarter ended 31 March 2026, it stood at ₹141.75 crore.

Net revenue stood at ₹893.27 crore, against ₹1,668.86 crore in Q4 FY26. Earnings per share (EPS) declined to ₹2.05 from ₹4.42 in the previous quarter.
