NTPC Limited Q4 FY26 Results: Consolidated Profit Jumps 34%, Capacity Addition Hits Record High

NTPC reported a consolidated net profit of ₹10,615 crores in Q4 FY26, up 34% YoY. Standalone revenue increased by 6% to ₹43,111 crores.
NTPC Limited's strong performance in the March quarter of FY 2025-26 was on account of higher profits from subsidiaries and joint ventures, although its standalone revenue stayed under pressure.
On a consolidated basis, NTPC reported a Q4 FY26 profit of ₹10,615 crore, up 34.4% year-on-year from ₹7,897 crore in Q4 FY25. Sequentially, profit also rose 34.6% from ₹5,597 crore in Q3 FY26.
On the National Stock Exchange, NTPC’s share price was ₹388.65 at the close of the market on 22 May 2026.
Q4 Performance Summary
The company’s standalone profit after tax came in at ₹8,747 crore during the quarter, rising 75.4% YoY from ₹4,987 crore and 51.4% QoQ from ₹5,778 crore. Revenue from operations on a standalone basis stood at ₹43,111 crore in Q4 FY26, slightly higher by 6% over ₹40,644 crore last year, but marginally lower by 1.8% compared to ₹43,904 crore in Q3 FY26.
Operationally, NTPC’s standalone coal plant load factor for Q4 FY26 stood at 76.16%, lower than 81.24% in the year-ago quarter but better than 71.03% in Q3 FY26. Commercial generation during Q4 rose 4.4% QoQ to 91.05 billion units. Plant availability factor for coal stations improved to 91.93% from 90.80% in the previous quarter.
FY26 In A Nutshell
For the full year, consolidated profit increased 15% to ₹27,546 crore from ₹23,953 crore in FY25. Standalone PAT rose 17.9% to ₹23,162 crore compared to ₹19,649 crore a year ago. Adjusted standalone PAT stood at ₹19,530 crore, up from ₹18,016 crore in FY25.
A major highlight for NTPC during FY26 was its highest-ever capacity addition. The group added 9,178 MW net capacity during the year after accounting for decommissioning, taking total installed capacity to 89,108 MW from 79,930 MW last year. Standalone installed capacity increased to 60,796 MW. Renewable energy additions remained strong, contributing 5,488 MW during the year.
NTPC also strengthened its balance sheet during FY26. On a consolidated basis, gross fixed assets rose 16.4% YoY to ₹4.71 lakh crore, while book value per share increased to ₹210 from ₹190 last year. The debt-equity ratio improved to 1.32 from 1.34.
The board recommended a final dividend of ₹3.5 per share for FY26, in addition to two interim dividends of ₹2.75 each already paid during the year.
