Maruti Suzuki Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Jumps 36% To ₹52,456 Crore

Maruti Suzuki FY27 Results: Maruti Suzuki had a mixed quarterly performance. Revenue rose 36% to ₹52,456 crore on record sales volumes. But net profit declined 11% YoY to ₹3,352 crore due to higher input costs.
Maruti Suzuki's revenue from operations increased 36% YoY to ₹52,456 crore. This was mainly due to record sales of its vehicles. But increased cost of raw materials decreased the net profit, resulting in an 11% reduction to ₹3,352 crore, compared with ₹3,758 crore for the same quarter last year.
Maruti Suzuki Q1 Results: Performance Highlights
Maruti Suzuki sold a record 6,82,724 vehicles during the quarter, up 29% from a year ago. The growth came from across its portfolio, with domestic small car sales rising 34%, SUV sales increasing 45% and exports growing 29%. The company's domestic market share also improved by 2.3 percentage points to 41.2%.
SUVs accounted for the largest increase in sales for the company due to Maruti Suzuki's expansion into this market and improvements made to its car models in recent times. There is still a healthy demand for small cars apart from SUVs, and the boost in exports also supported the overall increase in sales.
Higher production from the company's second plant at Kharkhoda helped it meet demand without building up dealer inventory, which stood at around 13 days at the end of the quarter.
Alongside its quarterly earnings, Maruti Suzuki's board approved an investment of ₹561 crore for the first phase of four compressed biogas (CBG) manufacturing projects. The company said future expansion of CBG production will be evaluated based on the performance of these initial projects.
The decision fits with Maruti Suzuki's wider plan of venturing into cleaner transportation options, besides its focus on hybrid technology, CNG vehicles and other fuel options alternative to petrol/diesel.
Management Commentary And Stock Price
The company’s management said the commissioning of its second manufacturing plant at Kharkhoda played an important role in supporting higher production and meeting customer demand. The additional capacity enabled the company to improve vehicle availability while maintaining healthy dealer inventory levels of around 13 days at the end of the quarter.
At the close of the day on 31 July 2026, Maruti Suzuki's share price was ₹14,234.0 on the National Stock Exchange.
