Marine Electricals Expands Production Footprint With New Goa Manufacturing Plant; Shares Gain 9%
Marine Electricals shares are up 9% after the launch of its sixth manufacturing facility in Goa.

Marine Electricals has inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Goa, with around 1.6 lakh sq ft of floor space. The company’s share price, as a result, ended 9% on Monday.

Shares of Marine Electricals (India) Limited rose on 21 September 2026 after the company expanded its manufacturing footprint with the launch of a new plant in Goa. It is its sixth manufacturing facility.

This new plant of Marine Electricals is aimed at strengthening production capabilities, improving operational efficiency and supporting demand from the company's marine and industrial businesses.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Marine Electricals shares closed at ₹415.80 on Monday, up 9.65% from the previous close of ₹379.20. The stock opened at ₹380 and touched an intraday high of ₹421 before falling to a low of ₹376.15.

The new Marine Electricals plant has a combined floor space of approximately 1.6 lakh sq ft. The facility began operations on 14 September 2026 and is dedicated to manufacturing power train units (PTUs) for data centres and shore conversion systems for ports.

The plant is expected to reach a manufacturing capacity of around 800 PTUs for data centres annually by March 2027. Its launch expands the company's capabilities in critical power distribution and marine infrastructure solutions.

The new Marine Electricals facility will add to, rather than replace, the company's existing manufacturing network. Five fully operational units in Goa and another facility in Vadodara will continue producing low-voltage/medium-voltage (LV/MV) switchboards and busducts.

The company also expects the new Goa operation to create employment opportunities across production, engineering, logistics, quality assurance and other operational functions.

Marine Electricals was established in 1978 and is headquartered in Mumbai. The company provides engineering solutions across power distribution, automation and integrated electrical systems.

Its customer base spans commercial marine and defence marine businesses, infrastructure and commercial sectors. The company also serves the Indian Navy, shipyards, data centres, semiconductor companies and industrial enterprises.

As of June 2026, Marine Electricals had six manufacturing facilities, multiple branches and service centres and over 700 employees. It recorded revenue of ₹877 crore in FY26 and had an order book of ₹2,073 crore as of June.
