Mankind Pharma Ties Up With Chinese Firm For Two Insulin Products
Mankind Pharma signs a China partnership deal to add two insulin products in India.

Mankind Pharma is widening its diabetes care portfolio through a new India-focused partnership with China’s Chongqing Chenan Biopharmaceutical. The agreement covers two insulin analogues for commercialisation in India.

Mankind Pharma Limited has entered into an exclusive in-licensing and marketing agreement with China-based Chongqing Chenan Biopharmaceutical Co. Limited for two insulin analogues in India. The company announced the agreement on 20 August 2026, with the products aimed at the diabetes care segment.

The agreement covers insulin degludec and an insulin degludec combination product.

Mankind Pharma’s share price closed at ₹2,385, down ₹9.00, or 0.38%, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Mankind Pharma said the agreement is part of its wider approach of using strategic partnerships and in-licensing opportunities to access global innovation. The company described the collaboration as aligned with this broader strategy.

Atish Majumdar, Senior President, Sales and Marketing, at Mankind Pharma, said the partnership is intended to expand access to advanced therapies in India while strengthening the company's presence in injectable diabetes care.

The agreement gives Mankind Pharma exclusive rights to commercialise and market the two insulin products in India. The focus now shifts to bringing the licensed therapies into the company's diabetes care portfolio.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed in the information provided by the source. The company has also not provided further details on the expected commercial rollout of the two products.
