Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. reported a strong start to FY27, with higher revenue, improved profitability and record order visibility. Consolidated net profit rose 46% year-on-year to ₹312 crore, while revenue increased 4% to ₹6,408 crore. The company's order book also climbed to an all-time high of ₹66,607 crore at the end of the June quarter.

The company delivered its highest-ever first-quarter revenue, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), and profit before tax (PBT). Consolidated EBITDA increased 7% year-on-year to ₹562 crore, with the EBITDA margin improving 30 basis points to 8.8%.

Profit before tax grew 45% to ₹420 crore, while the PBT margin expanded by 190 basis points to 6.6%, supported by a diversified business mix and better working capital management.

Order inflows remained healthy during the quarter. The company secured orders worth ₹7,668 crore in FY27 to date and is favourably placed as the lowest bidder (L1) for projects worth around ₹7,300 crore, taking the total order pipeline to nearly ₹15,000 crore.

The record order book of ₹66,607 crore was driven by major project wins across the transmission and distribution (T&D), buildings and factories (B&F), and water businesses. After the quarter ended, KPIL also won fresh orders worth ₹876 crore in Q2 FY27 across the T&D and oil & gas segments in India.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manish Mohnot said Q1 FY27 reflected disciplined project execution, improving profitability and sustained order momentum across the company's core businesses. He added that the recent AA+ credit rating upgrade, a strong balance sheet and record order backlog provide confidence to deliver sustainable growth and create long-term shareholder value.

On 11 August, Kalpataru Projects' share price rose 2.46% to close at ₹1,347.70 on the National Stock Exchange.
