Jupiter Wagons shares rise 4% as ₹211.27 crore freight orders and ₹400 crore BESS projects emerge.

Jupiter Wagons shares rose over 4% in early trade on 11 August 2026. It came after the company announced freight wagon orders worth ₹211.27 crore. It also emerged as the successful bidder for two BESS projects estimated at ₹400 crore. Read more.

Jupiter Wagons was in focus on Tuesday, 11 August 2026. This was after the company announced multiple order wins across its freight wagon and energy storage businesses.

The new contracts include orders from JSW Port Logistics Pvt. Ltd. and Orissa Alloy Steel Pvt. Ltd. (OASPL). The company has also secured two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in West Bengal.

Jupiter Wagons shares rose as much as 4.48% to an intraday high of ₹268.95 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock, however, remained below its 52-week high of ₹372.85.

At market close, the stock was trading 1.94% higher at ₹262.40, as investors tracked the latest order wins and project announcements.

Jupiter Wagons has secured two freight wagon orders worth ₹211.27 crore, including GST. The first is a ₹147.11 crore Letter of Intent (LoI) from JSW Port Logistics for the manufacture and supply of 329 wagons.

The second order, worth ₹64.16 crore, has come from OASPL. It covers the manufacture and supply of 150 wagons.

The latest JSW order marks the company’s second order from the group in six weeks. In June 2026, Jupiter Wagons received a ₹122.88 crore order from JSW (South) Rail Logistics.

With the latest contract, Jupiter Wagons’ total order intake from the JSW Group has reached around ₹270 crore in less than two months.

Jupiter Wagons has emerged as the successful bidder for two independent BESS projects with a total capacity of 100 MW/400 MWh in West Bengal.

The projects are located at Jeerat and Kharagpur and were awarded by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDCL) through e-reverse auctions under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.

The projects will be executed and operated through Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons. They involve an estimated ₹400 crore investment/order opportunity and will operate under a 15-year build-own-operate (BOO) model with WBSEDCL.

Following these wins, Jupiter Electric Mobility’s BESS order book has increased to approximately 500 MWh, valued at more than ₹500 crore. The company is targeting a BESS order book of around ₹1,000 crore by FY27.
