JSW Infrastructure Q1 FY27 Results: JSW Infrastructure reported an 18.15% year-on-year rise in revenue from operations to ₹1,444.83 crore in the June quarter, while consolidated net profit fell 9.89% to ₹346.63 crore due to a lower profit before tax and a higher effective tax rate. Cargo volumes increased 6% to 31 million tonnes.

JSW Infrastructure reported its June-quarter (Q1 FY27) results after market hours on Tuesday, July 21. The private port operator posted higher revenue on the back of growth in cargo volumes and its logistics business, though profit declined from a year ago.

The company’s consolidated net profit attributable to owners of the company stood at ₹346.63 crore for the April-June quarter, compared with ₹384.68 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Profit before tax (PBT) fell 2.1% year-on-year to ₹462.8 crore, while other income declined 36.8% to ₹56.8 crore as surplus funds were deployed towards ongoing growth capital expenditure.

Revenue from operations rose 18.15% to ₹1,444.83 crore from ₹1,223.85 crore a year earlier, supported by higher cargo volumes, continued growth in logistics and a favourable cargo mix.

Operating EBITDA increased 8.9% year-on-year to ₹731 crore from ₹671 crore. EBITDA margin, however, narrowed to 48.7% from 51.1% in the year-ago quarter, mainly due to lower contribution from the Fujairah liquid storage terminal in the UAE.

Total expenses increased 23% year-on-year to ₹1,038 crore, largely because of higher operating costs.

The logistics business continued to grow during the quarter. Revenue from the segment rose 71% year-on-year to ₹237 crore, while operating EBITDA increased 3.6 times to ₹73 crore, supported by operating leverage and expansion of the company's rail logistics network.

Cargo handled during the quarter rose 6% year-on-year to 31 million tonnes. Growth was led by Jaigarh Port, with additional support from Dharamtar Port, South West Port and Ennore Bulk Terminal. Lower volumes at the Fujairah Liquid Terminal partly offset the gains.

During the quarter, The ports and logistics firm completed a ₹7,503 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP), strengthening its balance sheet and helping meet SEBI's minimum public shareholding requirement. As of June 2026, the company reported a net cash position of ₹2,769 crore, with gross debt of ₹7,094 crore and cash and bank balances of ₹9,863 crore.

The company reiterated its plan to expand cargo handling capacity to 400 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by FY30 or earlier from the current 186 MTPA, supported by a planned capital expenditure of ₹30,000 crore.

For FY27, JSW Infrastructure expects operating revenue of around ₹6,850 crore, operating EBITDA of ₹3,000 crore and cargo volumes of 127 million tonnes, compared with 122 million tonnes handled in FY26. It has also earmarked ₹9,000 crore to expand its logistics business following the Navkar acquisition.

Joint Managing Director and CEO Rinkesh Roy said operations at the Fujairah terminal affected earnings during the quarter and estimated that the company could have generated an additional ₹65-70 crore in EBITDA had the disruption not occurred.

On the proposed greenfield port project in Oman, Roy said the region outside the Strait of Hormuz has become strategically important for the governments of Oman and the UAE. He added that the company remains committed to the project despite the current geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

JSW Infrastructure shares closed 1.12% lower at ₹344.55 on the NSE on Tuesday before the company announced its quarterly results. At 11:00 am IST on Wednesday, July 22, the stock was trading at ₹334.60, down 2.89% for the day. The company's market capitalisation stood at around ₹80,502 crore.
