ITC Share Price Today: Stock Jumps 3% On Q2FY27 Margin Hopes As Tobacco Prices Ease Further
ITC shares rise 3% as investors expect stronger Q2FY27 earnings and improved tobacco business margins.

ITC shares rose as much as 3% amid expectations of stronger Q2FY27 earnings. Softer tobacco prices during the July-September quarter are expected to support margins and profitability. The stock has remained under pressure through 2026, but renewed value buying and improving market sentiment have lifted interest ahead of the results.

ITC shares gained sharply on Monday, with the stock rising as much as 3%, as investors turned more optimistic about the company's September-quarter performance. Expectations of improved margins in the tobacco business have emerged as the main trigger for the latest buying interest.

The July-September 2026 quarter brought little pressure from tobacco prices, which remained soft. Lower input costs could support ITC’s profitability. Investors are now watching to see if that advantage translates into stronger quarterly earnings.

ITC has also come back into focus after a prolonged slide. Sentiment across Dalal Street has improved, adding to the interest. Its lower valuation has made the stock appealing to investors hunting for beaten-down large-cap names.

At 11.38 pm on 5 October 2026, ITC shares rallied over 3%. However, by 12:35 pm the shares were trading at ₹261.90, up 2.35% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The six-month decline amounts to more than 10%, while the stock has lost over 25% since the start of the year and nearly 35% over the past 12 months.

Investors are now watching Q2FY27 earnings closely. Lower tobacco prices may give margins some breathing room. That has strengthened expectations around the company’s profitability for the quarter.

Then there is the stock’s sharp correction. It has changed the way investors are looking at its valuation. ITC remains a major portfolio holding, and the recent fall has put the stock back on the radar.
