What Is Driving Hindustan Copper Shares?
Copper prices moved higher on Tuesday, with demand from China supporting the metal. Benchmark three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange rose 0.61% to $14,750.5 a metric tonne by 0300 GMT, marking its sixth consecutive session of gains.
The latest move comes after a brief pullback in a broader rally. Copper had reached a record high on 7 September 2026, amid concerns over shortages outside the US.
US tariff developments have also remained part of the copper market story. Traders had moved metal into US warehouses following the threat of tariffs on copper. The US later imposed tariffs on copper products, but refined copper was excluded. In July, Trump issued a proclamation seeking a follow-up report from the Commerce Secretary before deciding whether to impose a phased tariff on refined copper imports, with the tariff set to begin at 15% in January 2027.
Hindustan Copper shares have fallen 3% over the past three months and more than 12% so far this year. Over a longer period, the stock has risen more than 13% in three years and over 26% in five years.
