HFCL Q2 Earnings: Profit Rises 448% Year-On-Year, Order Book Exceeds ₹28,900 Crore And Shares Gain 5%
HFCL reports a 448% rise in Q2 FY27 profit to ₹394.22 crore as revenue surges 144% and shares gain 5%.

HFCL recorded its strongest quarterly results in Q2 FY27. Consolidated profit after tax jumped more than fivefold year-on-year, with telecom products driving revenue growth. Shares gained 5% on 19 October. The company also highlighted its sizeable order book, planned manufacturing investments and improved revenue expectations for FY27.

HFCL Limited reported its best-ever quarterly performance for the September quarter, supported by strong growth in telecom products and a sharp improvement in profitability. The optical fibre, cable and telecommunications equipment manufacturer also reported progress across its defence and aerospace operations.

Consolidated revenue rose 143.62% year-on-year, while profit after tax climbed to ₹394.22 crore. Earnings growth outpaced revenue expansion, reflecting stronger operating performance and improved margins during the quarter.

The company attributed the results to increasing business scale, operating strength and rising demand across telecommunications and digital infrastructure. Its order book and advanced-stage business pipeline provide visibility over future revenue, with demand gathering pace across AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centres and telecom networks.

HFCL shares rose 5% to ₹268.81 on 19 October 2026 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock opened at ₹260 and touched an intraday low of ₹257 before reaching its displayed high of ₹268.81. The previous close was ₹256.01.

The share price was up 24.62% over one month and 26.1% over three months, while its one-year return stood at 256.23%.

Telecom products remained the company’s biggest revenue contributor, bringing in consolidated segment revenue of ₹2,321.98 crore during the quarter. The picture was less favourable elsewhere. Turnkey contracts and services continued to incur a loss before tax and interest, underscoring the uneven performance of its business divisions.

For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue stood at ₹4,456.77 crore. Profit after tax climbed to ₹639.86 crore.

HFCL expects revenue growth of at least 80% in FY27 over the previous financial year. It plans to invest approximately ₹1,800 crore in optical fibre, cable and preform manufacturing, expand capacity and deepen manufacturing integration. The company is also targeting around ₹500 crore in defence and aerospace revenue for FY27.

Its next growth phase will depend on converting the order pipeline into firm contracts and sustaining momentum across telecom and digital infrastructure markets.
