HCLTech Q2 Results
HCLTech’s Q2 results will offer insights into revenue growth, margins, AI pricing and FY27 guidance.

HCLTech’s Q2 results will reveal whether revenue growth, improving margins and new contracts can offset AI-related pricing pressure.

HCLTech will announce its September-quarter results on 12 October. Seven brokerages expect net profit to rise by around 12% from a year earlier. Revenue is projected to increase by 16%.

The company could benefit from recent acquisitions and projects that are beginning to contribute more revenue. The second quarter also tends to be stronger for IT companies because of seasonal demand patterns.

The company's revenue is expected to grow by around 2.7–3% from the previous quarter. The HPE Telco Solutions business and the Jaspersoft acquisition are expected to contribute to this increase.

The bigger question is what management says about its forecast for the 2026–27 financial year. HCLTech currently expects overall revenue growth of 1–4%. Some brokerages believe the company could raise the lower end of this range or narrow its forecast to reflect the contribution from acquisitions.

Emkay expects organic growth in overall revenue. Jefferies, meanwhile, expects HCLTech to narrow its services revenue growth forecast to 2–4%.

Revenue growth alone will not determine the market's reaction to the results. Investors will also look at operating margins to see whether the additional business is translating into better profitability. Brokerages expect earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins to improve by roughly 70–120 basis points quarter on quarter. However, acquisition-related costs could limit the improvement.

Spending patterns across industries will provide another indication of demand. Banking, financial services and insurance, along with technology clients, are expected to hold up relatively well. Manufacturing, telecommunications and retail remain areas of concern. Analysts will be looking for signs that clients are becoming more willing to approve discretionary projects.

Large contract wins will also be closely watched.

Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities for IT companies, but it is also putting pressure on traditional services. Clients may need fewer billable hours for certain tasks as AI tools improve productivity. That could affect how much service providers can charge for existing work.

Some analysts estimate that AI-related pricing pressure could affect 2–3% of HCLTech's portfolio. Investors will want to know whether new AI services can make up for any weakness in established business lines.

Management's comments on the AI Force platform, customer spending on AI data centres and hiring plans will therefore be important. Together with revenue guidance and margin performance, these details should help investors judge whether HCLTech can maintain its growth in the second half of the financial year.
