Genesys International has won a ₹283-crore World Bank-funded contract to develop a 3D digital twin and spatial intelligence platform for Ahmedabad. The project will map around 625 sq km and cover nearly 25 lakh properties and key civic infrastructure.
Genesys International has secured a ₹283-crore contract to develop a 3D digital map and spatial intelligence platform for Ahmedabad.
The World Bank-funded project will cover around 625 square kilometres of the city and create a digital database of properties, roads and civic infrastructure.
Around 25 lakh properties will be surveyed and geocoded as part of the project. Each property will be assigned a unique digital identity, creating a property-level spatial database for Ahmedabad.
After the announcement, Genesys International shares rose more than 3% during the trading session on Thursday, 24 September. At 11:26 AM, the shares were trading at ₹288.96, up 2.61% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Project To Map Civic Infrastructure
The project will cover land parcels, buildings, roads, water supply networks, sewerage systems and stormwater drainage infrastructure. Genesys International will use its geospatial mapping technology and a range of sensors to build the city's digital representation.
The work will also include an elevation model based on orthophotography. The company plans to establish 40 primary and 200 secondary survey control points to improve the accuracy of the mapping database.
Underground Networks To Be Mapped
A significant part of the project will involve mapping infrastructure that is below ground.
Water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage and cable networks will be surveyed and mapped along with details such as their location and depth.
The information will be brought together on a central GIS platform, allowing different municipal departments to access the same spatial database.
Genesys said the digital platform can help authorities coordinate infrastructure work, plan future development and maintain existing civic assets using a common view of the city's above-ground and underground infrastructure.
