Bombay Dyeing’s Q1 FY27 profit fell 48.7% despite 8.7% revenue growth, while its EBITDA loss narrowed sharply. The company also approved Rajnesh Datt’s reappointment as Manager for two years.

Bombay Dyeing reported a mixed performance for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, with revenue increasing year on year, while net profit declined. The textile company’s operating loss, however, narrowed significantly compared with the year-ago period.

Bombay Dyeing’s consolidated net profit fell 48.7% year on year to ₹7.08 crore in the June quarter, compared with ₹13.81 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations rose 8.7% to ₹410.8 crore from ₹377.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) loss improved substantially to ₹0.58 crore, compared with a loss of ₹14.04 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company’s board has approved the reappointment of Rajnesh Datt as Manager for another two-year term, subject to shareholder approval.

The new term will begin on 4 February 2027. Datt was first appointed as Manager for a two-year period starting 4 February 2025, with his current term scheduled to end on 3 February 2027.

The proposed reappointment has been made under Sections 2(51), 2(53), 196 and 203 of the Companies Act, 2013.

Bombay Dyeing had earlier disclosed that it received an assessment order from the Income Tax Department’s Assessment Unit for the 2023–24 assessment year on 4 May 2026.

The order increased the company’s taxable income by ₹574.35 crore, which was adjusted against available tax losses. A tax demand of ₹2,26,760 was subsequently raised, while separate penalty proceedings were also initiated.

Bombay Dyeing’s share price declined 0.23% from the previous close of ₹120.23 to ₹119.95 on 10 August 2026.
