Bharat Dynamics Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Net Profit Jumps Over Sixfold To Rs 118.8 Crore, Revenue More Than Doubles

Bharat Dynamics Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Bharat Dynamics reported a sharp improvement in its June quarter financial performance, with profit growth outpacing the rise in expenses. The defence PSU also continued to add to its order pipeline, securing fresh contracts from Hindustan Aeronautics during the quarter.
Bharat Dynamics Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Defence equipment manufacturer Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) posted a sharp jump in earnings for the April-June quarter of FY27, with results announced on Friday, August 14, showing a multi-fold rise in net profit backed by strong topline growth.
Standalone net profit surged 547% year-on-year to Rs 119 crore, up from Rs 18 crore in the same quarter last year, regulatory filings showed. The company also posted a 5% sequential improvement over the Rs 113 crore reported in the March quarter of FY26.
Driving the profit surge was a 130% jump in revenue from core operations, which came in at Rs 572 crore for the quarter against Rs 248 crore a year earlier. Total expenses rose at a slower pace of 63% year-on-year, climbing to Rs 510 crore from Rs 248 crore, allowing the bottom line to expand faster than costs.
At the operating level, the company swung to a positive EBITDA of Rs 83 crore, a sharp turnaround from the negative Rs 45 crore recorded in the year-ago quarter. This pushed the EBITDA margin to 14.51%, compared with a negative margin in the corresponding period last year, according to exchange data.
Business Performance
The performance comes as BDL continues to add to its order pipeline. In June, the defence PSU secured orders worth Rs 1,347.71 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The contracts include Helina launchers and line replaceable units worth Rs 1,109.37 crore and countermeasure dispensing system LRUs worth Rs 238.34 crore. The orders are to be executed over 24 to 60 months.
