Bajaj Auto hits a 52-week high as August sales surge 28%, led by strong export growth.

Bajaj Auto's August sales were driven by overseas demand, with total exports rising 51% and two-wheeler exports jumping 53%. April-August sales were up 29% year-on-year.

Bajaj Auto shares rose as much as 2.80% on Tuesday, September 1, hitting a fresh 52-week high of Rs 12,470 after the company reported a 28% year-on-year rise in total sales for August 2026. The stock has gained around 20% over the past three months, while its market capitalisation stood at around Rs 3,43,503 crore.

Bajaj Auto sold 5,35,764 units in August, compared with 4,17,616 units a year ago. Two-wheeler sales increased 30% to 4,43,748 units, with exports rising 53% to 2,41,850 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 10% to 2,01,898 units during the month.

The commercial vehicle segment also recorded growth, with sales rising 22% year-on-year to 92,016 units. Domestic sales increased 11%, while exports rose 39% during August.

Exports accounted for a significant share of Bajaj Auto's total sales during the month. Total exports increased 51% to 2,80,056 units from 1,85,218 units a year earlier, while domestic sales rose 10% to 2,55,708 units.

The trend was also visible in the company's two-wheeler business, where overseas volumes grew much faster than domestic sales. Two-wheeler exports jumped 53% in August, compared with 10% growth in domestic volumes.

Bajaj Auto's sales growth has remained firm in the first five months of FY27. The company sold 24,48,692 units between April and August 2026, up 29% from 18,94,853 units in the corresponding period last year.

Total exports during the April-August period rose 50% to 12,66,714 units, while domestic sales increased 13% to 11,81,978 units. Two-wheeler sales grew 29% to 20,55,019 units, while commercial vehicle sales increased 28% to 3,93,673 units.

Bajaj Auto shares touched Rs 12,470 on Tuesday, marking a fresh 52-week high. The stock has gained around 20% over the past three months and was trading close to its day's high after the sales update.

The company has a market capitalisation of around Rs 3.43 lakh crore. The stock is trading at a P/E ratio of 28.31, while its price-to-sales ratio stands at 3.9 and price-to-book ratio at 8.28.

Bajaj Auto's 14-day RSI stood at 69.1, close to the 70 level generally watched as an overbought zone. The stock was also trading above all eight monitored simple moving averages.

Foreign institutional investors increased their holding in Bajaj Auto to 9.01% in the June 2026 quarter from 8.82% in the previous quarter. Mutual fund holding, meanwhile, fell to 6.01% from 7.17% during the same period.
