Bajaj Auto share price fell sharply on Thursday after the company reported its September sales numbers. The shares were trading at ₹9,955 apiece on the BSE at 12:00 PM IST, down 8.45% from the previous close. The stock touched an intraday low of ₹9,915. At the same time, the Nifty 50 was down around 0.3%, highlighting the sharper fall in the auto stock.
The decline came after Bajaj Auto reported a 5% year-on-year rise in total sales to 5,38,443 units in September from 5,10,504 units a year earlier.
The sales growth was driven by exports, which jumped 32% to 2,43,987 units. Domestic sales, however, declined 9% to 2,94,456 units.
Bajaj Auto's September sales growth was below market expectations of around 11–12%, which also weighed on the stock.

Bajaj Auto Share Price Falls After Sales Data
Bajaj Auto shares came under pressure as investors assessed the weaker domestic volumes and the gap between reported sales growth and market expectations.
The fall also came as the broader auto sector remained weak. The Nifty Auto index declined around 3% on Thursday, with Bajaj Auto, M&M and Hero MotoCorp among the major losers.
Bajaj Auto's September numbers showed a sharp difference between its domestic and export markets. While exports continued to grow strongly, domestic two-wheeler sales declined 12% during the month.
At 12:00 PM IST, Bajaj Auto shares remained down 8.45% at ₹9,955 on the BSE.
