Adani Stocks Rebound After Sharp Sell-Off; Adani Ports Jumps Over 2%, Adani Green, Ambuja Cement Gain

Adani Group stocks recovered on Friday after coming under heavy selling pressure in the previous session. Adani Ports led the rebound, while Adani Green, Ambuja Cements, Adani Enterprises and other group shares traded higher.
Adani Group stocks rose on Friday, October 9, reversing some of the previous session's sharp losses, with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone leading the gains by late morning.
Adani Ports shares rose 2.44% to ₹1,749.70 around 11:40 am, while Ambuja Cements gained 1.88% to ₹347.40 and Adani Green Energy climbed 1.09% to ₹1,249.20. Adani Energy Solutions was up 0.78% at ₹1,261.30, while Adani Enterprises gained around 0.5% to ₹2,608.60.
Adani Total Gas rose 0.47% to ₹564.85 and Adani Power gained 0.45% to ₹188.84, marking a broad recovery across the conglomerate after Thursday's market rout.
The rebound comes after Adani Group stocks fell sharply on October 8 amid a wider sell-off in Indian equities, with concerns over GQG Partners reducing its exposure to the group adding to pressure from elevated US bond yields, crude oil prices and persistent foreign portfolio investor selling.
Why Are Adani Stocks Rising Today?
Friday's gains follow a steep correction in Adani Group shares in the previous session, when several stocks fell sharply as selling intensified across the broader market.
Adani Green Energy had fallen as much as 10% during Thursday's session, while Adani Enterprises dropped as much as 7%. Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Power, Adani Total Gas and Adani Ports also came under pressure as investors cut exposure to riskier assets.
The sell-off coincided with renewed attention on GQG Partners' reduction in its exposure to Adani Group companies. GQG, which emerged as a prominent investor in the conglomerate in 2023, has pared holdings across several Adani companies during 2026.
The pressure was compounded by a broader risk-off move in Indian equities as elevated US Treasury yields, crude oil prices above $100 a barrel and continued foreign investor selling weighed on the market.
Friday's recovery indicates some buying returning to Adani Group shares following the previous session's steep declines, with Adani Ports showing the strongest gain among the major group companies by late morning.
