L&T's LTEH Offshore Wins Ultra-Mega Order Worth Over Rs 15,000 Crore For Middle East Offshore Development

L&T has received an ultra-mega order worth more than Rs 15,000 crore from a Middle East client, with its energy hydrocarbon offshore unit set to handle the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of multiple offshore facilities.
Larsen & Toubro's energy arm, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore), has secured an "ultra-mega" order worth more than Rs 15,000 crore from a client in the Middle East, the company said in an exchange filing on Monday, 17 August. L&T classifies contracts valued above Rs 15,000 crore as ultra-mega orders. The company did not disclose the identity of the client, exact contract value or project completion timeline.
The contract involves the development of multiple offshore facilities and will add significantly to LTEH Offshore's order book. Under the deal, the business will undertake the entire project scope, covering engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC), from the initial design stage through to final commissioning.
L&T said the order strengthens LTEH Offshore's presence in the Middle East and reflects customer confidence in its ability to execute large and complex offshore projects safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
T Madhava Das, Whole-time Director, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of the Energy Hydrocarbon Division at L&T, said the project is among the significant offshore developments currently underway in the Middle East and comes amid rising investments to meet future energy demand. He said the scale and complexity of the project would require engineering expertise, integrated project execution capabilities and coordination across multiple workstreams.
Parthasarathi Chatterjee, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, said the combination of multiple offshore facilities, subsea infrastructure and substantial fabrication requirements highlights the scale of the project. He added that LTEH Offshore's integrated EPCIC capabilities, supported by its engineering, fabrication and marine operations, would help it execute the project efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
What Does L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore Do?
LTEH Offshore is L&T's specialised business vertical for EPCIC projects across the oil, gas and energy-transition sectors. Its capabilities cover both shallow- and deep-water developments and include fixed offshore platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and modifications, deep-water subsea infrastructure and decommissioning projects.
The business has more than four decades of experience in offshore project execution across international markets, including the Middle East. Its operations are supported by in-house engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication and installation capabilities, as well as a dedicated fleet of offshore vessels.
The latest order further expands L&T's international offshore energy portfolio and strengthens its presence in the Middle East, one of the company's key overseas markets.
