SEBI Investor Awareness Campaign Brings Investing Education To Students And Investors Under Project Jagrook
SEBI launches its ‘Samajh Se Investing Simple’ investor awareness campaign.

SEBI has launched an investor awareness campaign to simplify investing and help people make informed decisions. The regulator has also introduced the MUST initiative and an official WhatsApp channel for investor awareness.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched an investor awareness campaign, ‘Samajh Se Investing Simple’, under Project Jagrook. The initiative is to promote informed investment decisions and make investing easier to understand.

The initiative was launched at Panjab University, Chandigarh, on 05 October 2026 during World Investor Week 2026.

The 10th edition of World Investor Week is being observed in India from 05 October to 11 October 2026. SEBI is implementing the campaign with securities market participants, including stock exchanges, depositories, the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM).

The SEBI investor awareness campaign aims to help investors understand investment products (stocks, mutual funds, etc.), their features and associated risks. It also encourages users to check whether investment platforms and payment requests are genuine before proceeding.

The initiative forms part of Project Jagrook, a nationwide effort using physical and digital channels in multiple languages to promote financial literacy, informed investing and financial fraud prevention.

SEBI has also introduced Mentoring of University/College Students by Trainers (MUST) to strengthen financial literacy and securities market awareness among students. Under the programme, selected faculty members, staff or senior students will receive training and certification to become partner trainers.

These trainers will then conduct financial literacy and securities market awareness activities within universities and colleges. The programme will focus on informed investing and preventing financial fraud.

SEBI is also working with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to expand Project Jagrook and MUST across educational institutions.

SEBI has separately established an official WhatsApp presence to provide investor awareness information and resources. The official WhatsApp channel can be accessed through 1800 22 7575 and will carry a verified blue tick to help users distinguish the authentic account from potentially fraudulent ones.
