PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana offers eligible first-time employees incentives of up to ₹15,000, subject to service and course requirements.

Eligible first-time employees joining the formal workforce can receive an incentive of up to ₹15,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). However, the payment depends on salary, first-time Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) membership and the period of continuous service completed by the employee.

The scheme, administered through the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), covers eligible employment created between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027. Employees earning monthly wages of up to ₹1 lakh may qualify, provided they meet the other prescribed conditions.

The incentive equals one month’s eligible EPF wage, subject to a maximum payment of ₹15,000. This means employees should not assume they will receive the full amount simply because they have joined a company or fall within the salary limit.

Employees can claim the benefit under Part A of PM-VBRY only if they are joining the EPF system for the first time. They must also join an eligible establishment between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027 and meet the scheme’s salary and service conditions.

Employees must check if they have been registered with the EPF earlier. They should make sure their employer is depositing the required PF contributions regularly.

Employers must also file the prescribed Electronic Challan-cum-Returns (ECRs). Meeting the wage limit alone does not establish eligibility for the incentive.

The government will pay the incentive in two instalments, subject to the scheme’s conditions.

The first instalment becomes available after six months of continuous service. The second is linked to completing 12 months of service and the prescribed financial literacy programme.

The total incentive depends on eligible EPF wages. Employees whose eligible wages fall below ₹15,000 may receive less than the maximum amount.

The second instalment also comes with a payment restriction. Under the scheme guidelines, the amount is to be placed in an appropriate savings instrument or deposit account for a specified period rather than necessarily being made available as immediately withdrawable cash.

Completing the prescribed financial literacy programme is a condition for receiving the second instalment. Employees who complete six months of service may qualify for the first payment. However, they must also complete 12 months of service and fulfil the programme requirement to receive the second.

Employees can consult the official PM-VBRY portal for scheme details and instructions on accessing the programme. Registration alone should not be treated as proof of completion.

Payments under Part A will be made through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts. Payments will use the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System.

Eligible employees should verify their Aadhaar and bank details. They should also check that their employers correctly report their employment and EPF contributions.

PM-VBRY includes a separate incentive for employers, who may receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional eligible employee, subject to the scheme’s conditions. This payment is separate from the incentive of up to ₹15,000 available to eligible first-time employees.
